Norma Whiteman, born Betty Norma Johnston was an Australian cricketer. Whiteman was born on 28 December 1927 and died on 9 January 2023. She was 95 years.

Cricket Australia confirmed her death in a tweet:

“Australian Cricket is mourning the loss of Norma Johnston (nee Whiteman), who has passed away aged 95.

“Norma played seven Tests from 1948-51 and until her passing, was Australia’s oldest living Test cricketer. Our thoughts are with her family and friends.”

At the time of her death, she was Australia’s oldest living Test cricketer.

A legendary Australian crickter, Whiteman played seven Test matches for the Australia women’s national cricket team between 1948 and 1951.

She made her Test debut (cap 27) on 20 March 1948 in a game against New Zealand.

Her final/ last Test was on 28 July 1951 in a game against England.

Norma Johnston was married to Mr. Whiteman. However, there is no information about him and we do not know if he is dead or alive.

There is also no information on Norma Whiteman’s children.
