The Nigerian film industry, also known as Nollywood, is currently holding a tribute for the late actress, Rachel Tabuno Oniga.

Late last month, the actress passed away at sixty-four years old (64) due to heart complications. The actress along with other key players in the industry like Patience Ozokwo dominated the African movie industry in the early 2000s.

Madam Ozokwo upon hearing the death of her longtime friend posted a video of her bitterly crying on Instagram. Other celebrities also extended their condolences and prayers to the deceased’s family.

There is an ongoing tribute nite where photos of the deceased have been slapped on a banner hanging up. Nollywood stars like Desmond Elliot, Kate Henshaw, Femi Branch, Keppy Ekpeyong, Fred Amata, and more, have arrived to grace the occasion.

Madam Tabuno began her acting career in 1993 shortly after her divorce. She worked for some time at Ascoline Nigeria Limited, before starring in her first movie called ‘Onome.’ After that, she has featured in movies like Omo Ghetto (2010), Chief Daddy, The Royal Hibiscus Hotel, Sango (1997), Rise of the Saints, and more.
