Noise-making ban begins on May 6, 2024

The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) has officially announced the commencement of the annual ban on drumming and noise-making activities within the Ga State, starting from Monday, May 6 to Thursday, June 6, 2024.

The announcement, signed by Gilbert Nii Ankrah, the Head of Public Affairs at the AMA, emphasizes the need to curb all forms of noise-making during this period.

According to the statement, celebratory events and funerals are expected to be postponed to comply with the ban.

Furthermore, the AMA reiterated that only the designated task force, comprising personnel from the AMA, the Ghana Police Service, and representatives from the Traditional Councils with identifiable tags, are authorized to enforce noise abatement measures within the metropolis.

During this ban period, residents and event organizers are urged to adhere to the regulations to ensure a peaceful environment within the Ga State.
