In a recent interview on Asempa FM, he made these claims.
Though he did not elaborate on the sacrifices he was referring to, the former striker stated that the Ghana Football Association (GFA) is aware of what he was referring to.
According to Asamoah Gyan:
“I always say that there are no players in Ghana’s history who have made more sacrifices than me. I don’t see any player. Everybody knows it, even those at the GFA know. When you talk about sacrifices, I know what I’m talking about. The Black Stars [Ghana’s national team] was always on my heart. I made sure I did everything to contribute whenever I represented the national team.”

Gyan has unquestionably made an everlasting impression on Ghanaian football, scoring 51 goals in 109 games.
Gyan’s national team path has not been without hurdles, as he has endured severe criticism for critical blunders, the most notable being his penalty miss that denied Ghana a position in the World Cup semi-finals in South Africa in 2010.
Yet, despite not having played for almost two years, the 37-year-old former Udinese, Sunderland, Al Ain, and Legon Cities FC striker thinks that his career is not gone.
During this time, he has been focusing on punditry and evaluating players, but he is keen to make a comeback.
