Nipon Goswami, a veteran actor of the Assamese film industry has died. He was born on 2 September 1942 and died 27 October 2022 at age 80.

The veteran actor had been suffering from heart related ailments for a while.
However, after his condition deteriorated suddenly, he was rushed to Nemcare Hospital on October 24, where he was kept under observation at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
He gave up the ghost during the early hours of Thurs. Oct 27 and is survived by a son Siddarth Goswami.
In 2019, when there was speculation that Nipon had died it was his son Siddarth who clarified through a Facebook post that his father was hale and hearty. He added that his father was only recovering from a minor hip surgery.
