After her family relocated to Perth, where she finished primary school, Nina started competing in athletics. She began her journey into athletics at the age of 11 by enlisting in the Perry Lakes Little Athletics organization. A year later, during a sporting event, a pole vault coach saw her incredible potential and introduced her to pole vaulting. Nina continued to be successful at the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, when she took home the bronze medal.
