Last year, Cruz pleaded guilty to the 17 murders that occurred at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in 2018. The jury will decide whether he receives a death sentence or a life sentence. The trial is set to begin on June 27 and might go until the end of October.

Nikolas Cruz, a 19-year-old former student, used a long rifle to kill 17 people and hurt 17 others before blending in with other students and fleeing to the Coral Springs area.

After the incident, he went to a McDonald’s and then to a Subway, where he was caught and charged with murder and attempted murder.
