Matteo Artemovich Chigvintsev is the son of American professional wrestler and TV personality, currently signed to WWE working as an ambassador Nikki Bella and her husband Artem Vladimirovich Chigvintsev, a Russian-American professional dancer, specializing in Latin dancing.

Prior to dating Chigvintsev, Bella was involved in a relationship with WWE star John Cena. She began dating John Cena in 2012 and they became engaged on April 2, 2017, when Cena proposed to her after their mixed tag-team match at WrestleMania 33.
Their relationship took a turn of events when on April 15, 2018, the couple called off the engagement and canceled their wedding, which was planned for May 5, 2018.

After her relationship with John Cena broke down, Bella began dating Chigvintsev, who happened to be her Season 25 Dancing with the Stars partner.
The couple announced their engagement on January 3, 2020 and on January 29, 2020, Bella announced that she is expecting her first child alongside her twin sister Brie, who announced her own second pregnancy the same day.
Bella announced the baby’s sex, a boy on June 11, 2020, on the season five finale of Total Bellas.
She gave birth to their son Matteo Artemovich Chigvintsev on July 31, 2020.
