Nigeria At Tokyo Olympics 2020: Tobi Amusan Cruises Into Semi Final In Women’s 100m Hurdles

Nigeria’s Oluwatobi Amusan has proceeded to the semi-final of 100m Women’s Hurdles of the Tokyo Olympics Games.

Tobi won Heat 3 of the 100m Women’s Hurdles with 12.72 seconds to qualify for the semifinals. Tobi qualified after she crossed the finish line ahead of Jamaican Yanique Thompson and Polish Pia Skrzyszowska who returned with the time of 12.74 and 12.75 seconds respectively.

Oluwatobi Amusan

Amusan is one of Nigeria’s hope of reaching the finals in the Athletics event at the ongoing Tokyo Olympics game.

Amusan showed a lot of athletic potential from an early age. She was a silver medallist at the 2013 African Youth Championships in Warri. She also claimed gold in the 100 meters hurdles at the 2015 African Junior Athletics Championship in Addis Ababa. In 2015, while making her All-Africa Games debut as an eighteen-year-old, she won the gold medal in the 100 metres hurdles.
