Niels Giffey Career
Niels Giffey began his career way back in Heinrich Schliemann high school, before he committed to play college basketball at the University of Connecticut.
While at UConn, he contributed to his team winning the NCAA Men’s Division I Basketball Tournament on two occasions.
He additionally played summer basketball with the Memphis Grizzlies and the Utah Jazz.

Giffey now plays as a small forward and shooting guard for Bayern Munich of the German Basketball Bundesliga (BBL), as well as the Germany national team.
He had signed a three-year deal with Bayern Munich in 2022.
Giffey has previously played for German team Alba Berlin, where he served as captain.
During his time with the team, he helped them win the German national championship, and the German Cup.
He additionally played for Žalgiris Kaunas of the Lithuanian Basketball League (LKL), and UCAM Murcia of the Liga ACB.
On the international stage, Giffey represented Germany during the EuroBasket 2022.
