Nicole Hazen was Diamondbacks general manager Mike Hazen’s wife. Nicole died of glioblastoma on Thursday, August 4, 2022. She was 45 years old at the time.

Nicole Hazen was a mother of four boys, a dedicated middle school teacher, and a “baseball mother and wife,” according to Mike Hazen.

The Hazen family said in a statement, “Nicole lived her life and loved her family with fierceness and devotion.” “She spent every day as a mother, wife, and educator advocating for goodness in the service of others.”

Nicole will be remembered for her vibrance, kindness, and beautiful smile that could light up a room.

Nicole Hazen was diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer, in 2020, according to her husband.

Doctors performed surgery to remove as much of the brain tumour as possible. She was then subjected to a six-week cycle of chemotherapy and radiation.

Following the diagnosis, Arizona established the Nicole Hazen Fund for Hope to raise funds for cancer research.

Nicole is survived by Mike and their four sons, Charlie, 16, John, 15, Teddy, 13, and Sam, 12.
