Nick Kyrgois has disclosed that he has tested positive for COVID-19 after sensationally pulling out of the Sydney Tennis Classic just hours before his first-round match.

This indicates that he will enter the Australian Open having not played a match since September.
Kyrgois withdrew from Melbourn Summerset last week due to illness and was given a wildcard entry into the Sydney Tennis Classic, which began on Monday at Sydney’s Olympic Park precinct.

Kyrgois revealed he was positive for COVID as made it known on his Instagram page. He wrote;
“Hey everyone, I just want to be open and transparent with everyone, the reason I have had to pull out of Sydney is that I tested positive for COVID. I am feeling healthy at the moment with no symptoms. I wish everyone all the best and to stay safe where you can. If all goes well, I will see you all at the Australian Open”.
