Nick Fisher went missing in November 2022 in Hooke, near Bridport, Dorset. On November 17, his body was discovered.
In 2006, he received a BAFTA award for his work on The Giblet Boys, which was voted Best Drama in the BAFTA Children’s Awards, and was nominated for Best Writer for the same programme.

Fisher appeared on TV with Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, promoting his fishing hobby. In 2007, he and Fearnley-Whittingstall won the André Simon Memorial book award for The River Cottage Fish Book.
He began his career as a magazine agony uncle in the 1980s and has since appeared on several shows, including ITV’s Dear Nick and BBC 5 Live radio show Dirty Tackle. He also appeared on River Cottage: Gone Fishing with Fearnley-Whittingstall.
