Nick Benedict Cause of Death

American actor, Nick Benedict has been reported dead. According to sources, he died on his birthday, July 14, 2023, from complications following emergency spinal surgery. He was 77 at the time of his death.

“On July 2nd, Sunday, Nick had emergency spinal cord surgery. On July 4th he was admitted to hospice. He is paralyzed from the neck down. He will need constant care and support. The fund was set up to raise money to help with bills, food, and any medical expenses that may arise,” a Facebook post shared.

Born on July 14, 1946, Nick Benedict made his acting debut in 1955 in the series Wiretapper as a child. His first performance as an adult was in Mike and the Mermaid when he was 17.  He also appeared in 1969, the Mission Impossible TV series episode, The Vault. 

He had his first important role as star-crossed Vietnam veteran Philip Brent on the ABC soap opera All My Children, where he played the role for six years and was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award during his last year on the show.

Benedict also played the role of Michael Scott on The Young and the Restless from 1980 to 1981 and played Ron Washington on Another Life from 1982 to 1983.
