Nicholas Lyndhurst Wife: Meet Lucy Smith

Lucy Smith is a former Ballet dancer and the wife of English actor Nicholas Lyndhurst. They have been married since 1999.

Their only son Archie, was born in 2002.  The couple met in 1992, after his wife Lucy saw him perform twice in the West End show Straight and Narrow.

Nicholas Lyndhurst had also spotted her as she left him a bottle of champagne and a letter after the first performance. He supported his wife’s dancing career while continuing to act in TV shows such as Goodnight Sweetheart and The Full Monty.

He frequently came out against her treatment at the dance company, revealing that anorexia was encouraged throughout her career. “I wasn’t having any of that,” he once said of the terrible treatment. “Dancers only get to change their shoes when the audience can see the blood.”

The close family were often seen posing together on the red carpet at various events – dressed up in smart suits and with Lucy often in fashionable gowns. Nicholas and Lucy’s son Archie tragically passed away in 2020 after suffering a brain haemorrhage following a “short illness”.
