Niamh Fahey is a footballer who plays for English Women’s Super League club Liverpool FC as a defensive midfielder / centre-back.
Born on October 13, 1987, in Galway, Ireland, Fahey started her early career with Salthill Devon in 2000, before she joined Arsenal Ladies in 2008, making 18 appearances for Arsenal.

Fahey spent six seasons with Arsenal, and in 2014, she got signed into Chelsea L.F.C.
So far, Fahey has played for Salthill Devon, Galway, Arsenal, Chelsea, Bordeaux, Liverpool, and the Republic of Ireland national team.
When Fahey played Gaelic football, she won the All-Ireland Ladies Football Championship on two occasions. In 2018, she began playing for Liverpool.
Fahey additionally plays for the Ireland national team, and has so far won over 100 caps for the country. She represented Ireland’s Under-17 and Under-19 teams, following her debut in 2007. On three occasions, she was named FAI Women’s Senior International Player of the Year.
In 2022, she played her 100th match for Republic of Ireland and scored her first goal for the team during the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualification.
