On Thursday, October 13, 2022, in Houston, a new civil suit was filed against Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson, less than two months after settling 23 lawsuits accusing him of sexual misconduct.

The plaintiff, who went by the name “Jane Doe,” claimed Watson pressured her into sexual activity during a professional massage session in a Houston hotel in late 2020. Watson was a Houston Texans player at the time.
The lawsuit claims that “during the massage, Watson continually pressured Plaintiff into massaging his private area.” According to the plaintiff, Watson “was able to pressure her into oral sex” and paid her more than double her normal masseuse fee.

“Watson’s status remains unchanged,” NFL spokesperson Brian McCarthy said in a statement on Friday. We will keep an eye on developments in the newly filed litigation, and any behaviour that warrants further investigation or possible additional sanctions will be addressed under the Personal Conduct Policy.”
Despite having previously settled all but one of the sexual misconduct civil lawsuits filed against him, Watson has denied wrongdoing in those cases, and two grand juries have separately declined to indict him on criminal charges.
