With seven children from different relationships, the Piquet family has become a testament to the enduring passion for speed and competition.

Piquet’s journey into fatherhood began with his first marriage, which lasted just a year. Despite the short duration of this union, it marked the birth of his first child in 1977. From there, his journey as a father has been marked by a deep involvement in the lives and careers of his offspring.

In his second marriage, Piquet welcomed three children into the world, including Nelson Angelo Piquet and Kelly Piquet. These children, born from his second marriage, would inherit their father’s racing genes and go on to make their mark in the world of motorsport.

Among Piquet’s children, the love for racing is not just a common thread; it is a shared passion that has seen them follow in their father’s footsteps. Geraldo Piquet, the eldest son, is a motor racing driver who currently competes in Formula Truck with a Ford truck as part of the DF Motorsport team.

Nelson Piquet Junior, another prominent name in the Piquet family, is a Brazilian stock car racing driver. He has also competed in Formula One and Formula E, where he achieved championship status in the 2014–15 season. Currently, he competes full-time in the Brazilian Stock Car Pro Series, driving the No. 33 Toyota Corolla E210 for Motul TMG Racing.

Pedro Estácio Leão Piquet Souto Maior, yet another offspring of Nelson Piquet, has made his mark in single-seater junior categories. His notable victories include winning the 2014 and 2015 Brazilian Formula 3 Championships. He has also participated in sporadic Kart races, often sharing the racetrack with his brother, Nelsinho Piquet.

The Piquet racing legacy is not confined to tarmac. Laszlo Piquet, Nelson’s son, competed in the amateur supermoto championship in Australia. In 2011, he ventured into Supermoto races in Brazil, and in 2012, he raced in the São Paulo, Brazilian, and European Supermoto championships in the SM1 category.

In the midst of this racing dynasty is Kelly Tamsma Piquet Souto Maior, Nelson Piquet’s daughter. She has chosen a different path, finding her calling as a model, columnist, blogger, and public relations professional. As a model, she has graced the pages of fashion magazines, walked the catwalk at prestigious fashion shows, and posed for renowned designers like PatBO and Lucas Boccalão.

Beyond the racetrack and fashion runways, the Piquet family’s influence extends into the digital realm. In April 2015, Nelson Piquet Junior took on the responsibility of Formula E social media coverage, ensuring that fans around the world stay connected to the thrilling world of electric racing.
