Nedu Clarifies: Yvonne Jegede’s Podcast Opinions Were Not Pressured or Paid for

Media personality Nedu has voiced his disapproval of Nollywood actress Yvonne Jegede regarding their dispute over podcast results, while also disclosing surprising details about her participation in the show.

It’s worth noting that Yvonne Jegede’s remarks on Yul Edochie’s polygamous marriage sparked outrage among supporters of the actor’s first wife and women who found her comments objectionable.

During a podcast with Nedu and the Honest Bunch team, Yvonne Jegede commented on the public’s support for Regina Daniels’ billionaire husband, Ned Nwoko, while simultaneously criticizing Yul Edochie for marrying a second wife.

After facing backlash from the podcast, Jegede apologized to her fans and to May Edochie, who many believed was the subject of her comments.

However, Nedu disapproved of Jegede’s apology, criticizing her for not maintaining her stance on the matter.

In reply, Yvonne Jegede disclosed that Nedu had often sent her messages, expressing his admiration and inviting her to spend time together.

Nedu issued a press statement rebutting Jegede’s assertion that the show was unrelated to her new movie. He acknowledged the public’s response to her remarks and clarified that she had not been pressured into making any statements during the podcast.

He also emphasized that the producers of the show are not accountable for any opinions or viewpoints expressed by Yvonne Jegede, urging her to refrain from making derogatory remarks. Nedu further noted that it was Yvonne who had approached their team to promote her new movie.

The statement reads;

“It has come to our attention that a recent guest on The Honest Bunch podcast, Yvonne Jegede, has resorted to publishing insulting and defamatory material on social media, following what appears to be public outcry against personal thoughts and positions shared by said guest on the show.

We would like to make it clear that Yvonne Jegede was not pressured to make any statements on the podcast, and that neither Nedu nor the producers of The Honest Bunch, nor Glitch Africa Studio, takes any responsibility for personal thoughts and positions shared by Yvonne Jegede.

We would also like to state clearly that Yvonne Jegede appeared on The Honest Bunch as part of her publicity drive for her upcoming movie. While this was a paid-appearance, it does not in any way afford Yvonne Jegede the right to defame or slander Nedu or the producers of The Honest Bunch.

We strongly advise Yvonne Jegede in good faith to desist from further aggravation, personal attacks, name-calling and vituperation.
