The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has criticized the Electoral Commission (EC) for not providing political parties with the electoral calendar for the 2024 elections.

The NDC believes that this failure shows that the EC is not prepared for the upcoming polls and that the late release of the calendar will make it difficult for political parties to prepare for the elections.
The EC had previously announced that the electoral calendar for 2024 would be released by the end of February 2024.

Dr. Tanko Rashid Computer, the Deputy Director of Elections and IT of the NDC, spoke to CitiNews about the issue. He stated that the current EC does not seem to be ready for the December elections. He emphasized that this is the EC’s second major election, and there are less than nine months until the general elections, but they still have not released a timetable.
The NDC has met with the EC twice, on February 22 and February 29, 2024, but they have not received any information about the electoral calendar. Dr. Computer urged the EC to take immediate action to ensure a smooth electoral process.
In doing this, they hope to ensure a more acceptable result in this election.
