Builsa South Member of Parliament, Dr. Clement Apaak, has criticized Energy Minister Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, also known as Napo, for denying the existence of dumsor (intermittent power outages) in Ghana.

Napo recently stated that the country is not facing dumsor but rather ‘dum sie sie,’ during a Government Assurances Committee meeting in Accra on Friday, May 3.
He argued that the situation under the current administration is different from what occurred during former President John Mahama’s tenure.

However, Dr. Apaak has condemned Napo’s remarks as deceitful and disrespectful. He emphasized that the power challenges being experienced by Ghanaians are indeed dumsor, regardless of how the Minister chooses to describe it.
Dr. Apaak urged the government to acknowledge the crisis and take action to resolve it, similar to what was done during Mahama’s presidency. He called for the release of a timetable to help citizens plan their lives better amidst the power outages.
In his words, “Deceitful, dishonest, and insincere administration. All dumsor be dumsor. Do you think denying we are experiencing dumsor will make dumsor go away? Give us a timetable and stop being disrespectful.”
