Gatwa was cast in Doctor Who as the fourteenth incarnation of the show’s protagonist, the Doctor, on May 8, 2022. Gatwa, who was cast in February, will be the first black actor to play the character’s primary incarnation and the second overall, following Jo Martin’s appearance as the Fugitive Doctor.

He is expected to make his debut in a special episode commemorating the BBC’s centenary in 2022, before taking on the role full-time the following year.
Ncuti keeps a low profile and keeps his personal life private. He has not publicly stated whether or not he is in a relationship, and everything seems to indicate that he is currently single. However, rumours suggest that he was in a relationship with Jessica Hardwick for several months in 2018. The young lady is a London-based photographer who has worked with several celebrities.
