Nations FC Beat Accra Lions To Move Four Points Behind FC Samartex

Nations FC closed the gap to within four points of leaders FC Samartex 1996 with a narrow 1-0 victory at home against Accra Lions to kick off matchday 30 of the Ghana Premier League on Friday.

Barimah Baah’s goal in the 41st minute was the difference at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex.

This win is a significant relief for Nations FC, who had not secured a victory in their last five matches.

With this result, Nations FC now sit just four points behind long-time leaders FC Samartex 1996, who have 48 points and are set to host relegation-threatened Bofoakwa Tano at the Nsenkyire Stadium on Sunday.

Despite their defeat, Accra Lions remain in third position, holding their place behind the second-placed team.
