Who Is Nathan Lyon?

Nathan Lyon is a professional cricketer who plays as a right-handed bowler, and represents Australian in international cricket matches.

Born on November 20, 1987, in Young, New South Wales, Australia, Lyon first played his Test debut in 2011.

As an off spin bowler and a right-handed batsman, he now ranks amongst the most successful in his career, with a record for the most Test wickets taken by anyone from his country.

Lyon earned the man of the series in 2010, when he played in Zimbabwe, taking 11 wickets in the tri-series.

In 2011, he made it to the Australian Test squad for the tour to Sri Lanka and ended with 5/34 in his first innings.

Lyon played his 100th Test match in 2021 during the Australian series, and so far, he holds the record for the 131st player to “take five wickets on debut in a Test match.”
