Nathan Fillion is a Canadian-American actor best known for playing the leading roles of Captain Malcolm “Mal” Reynolds on Firefly and its film continuation Serenity, and Richard Castle on Castle.

In 2017, Fillion was cast in the recurring role of Jacques Snicket on the second season of the Netflix comedy-drama series A Series of Unfortunate Events. In February 2018, Fillion was cast to star as John Nolan in the new ABC TV series The Rookie.
