Sydney Kaplan is the ex-wife of Nate Thompson a former Canadian-American ice hockey player of the National Hockey League (NHL).

The formercouple got married in July 2028. Thompson, who was raised in a Christian home, converted to Judaism in July 2018, the same faith as his wife, Sydney Kaplan.

Thompson’s conversion was finalised one week before the couple married. Thompson and Kaplan divorced in July 2021 after they separated in December 2020.

Nate Thompson’s journey to becoming a professional hockey player began when he was drafted by the Boston Bruins in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, marking the start of his NHL dream.

He played for the Boston Bruins, New York Islanders, Tampa Bay Lightning, Anaheim Ducks, Ottawa Senators, Los Angeles Kings, Montreal Canadiens, Philadelphia Flyers and Winnipeg Jets.

One of the pinnacle moments of Thompson’s career came during the 2019-2020 NHL season when he was part of the Tampa Bay Lightning roster. Playing a crucial role as a depth forward, he contributed significantly to the team’s successful run to the Stanley Cup.
