Nani Widjaja Illness: What Happened to Nani Widjaja?

On March 1, 2023, Nani Widjaja was rushed to Fatmawati Hospital, due to shortness of breath. She was moved to the high-care unit and started undergoing treatment, monitored by several intern doctors.

Widjaja’s daughter, Nina Kartika stated that she was unable to speak for two months and her health began to deteriorate. She was diagnosed with dementia, and then slipped into a coma due to fever and shortness of breath.

Widjaja’s condition began to improve and she underwent a tracheostomy on March 7, 2023.

She died at Fatmawati Hospital in Cilandak, South Jakarta, on March 16, 2023, at the age of 78. Her death was announced by her daughter, actress Cahya Kamila.
