The partial solar eclipse will begin around 6:45 p.m. universal time, or 12:15 a.m. IST on May 1.  As it will be nighttime, no one will be able to see the cosmic event. On April 30, Earth will witness the first partial solar eclipse of the year 2022, followed by a total lunar eclipse on May 16.

The solar eclipse will be visible from the southern and western parts of South America, the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, and the majority of Antarctica’s landmass. According to experts, it will not be visible from India or the United States because it will occur during the day when the moon will not be visible in the Indian skies.
