Monty Norman, composer of the instantly recognisable James Bond theme music was the husband of actor Diana Coupland.

Norman’s wife was best known for 70s sitcom Bless This House, and she died in 2006.

Coupland, who was a patron of National Lupus UK, died at the University Hospital in Coventry in November 2006, aged 78, after failing to recover following an operation to resolve long-term heart problems.

Norman was Coupland’s first husband and they divorced after 20 years of marriage, The couple had one daughter.

Sadly, Norman died on Monday July 11, 2022, about sixteen years after the death of Coupland at the age of 94, his official website announced.

“It is with sadness we share the news that Monty Norman died on 11th July 2022 after a short illness,” read the statement.
