Her opponent, Jaqueline Amorim, proved to be a tough challenge, and despite her best efforts, Ruiz lost the fight via technical knockout in the third round.
Ruiz wasted no time in proving her resilience by accepting a short-notice fight on November 4, 2023, at UFC Fight Night 231. She stepped in to replace So Yul Kim and faced Eduarda Moura.
However, the fight had its share of drama at the weigh-ins, with Moura exceeding the weight limit by three and a half pounds. The bout proceeded at a catchweight, with Moura fined 30% of her purse, which went to Ruiz.
In this bout, Ruiz once again showcased her fighting prowess but lost via technical knockout in the second round.
