Monica Abbott Parents: Meet Julie Abbott and Bruce Abbott

A silver medal-winning Olympian for Team USA, Monica Abbott plays professional softball for the United States. She was also an All-American in college. In college, the NPF, and the Japan Softball League, Abbott pitched for the Tennessee Lady Volunteers. She has represented Team USA in international tournaments since 2005, participating on the national softball team that won a silver medal in the 2008 and 2020 Summer Olympics. The NCAA Division I leader in victories, strikeouts, shutouts, and innings is Abbott.

Between 2005 and 2010, Monica Abbott had enormous international success. She guided Team USA to victories in the 2006 and 2010 ISF Women’s World Championships, four World Cup of Softball titles, three Canada Cup victories, and gold medals.

Abbott was raised in Salinas, California, after being born in Santa Cruz, California. Abbott’s parents are Bruce and Julie Abbott, and she has three siblings: Jessica (born 1984), Jared (born 1988), and twins Bina and Gina (born 1991). Abbott attended North Salinas High School from 1999 to 2003.
