Mona Lisa Cake: When Did The Mona Lisa Get Caked?

The 16th century Mona Lisa masterpiece, in the Louvre museum in Paris, was smeared with cake during a climate protest.

The art work which was designed by Leonardo da Vinci was protected behind a bulletproof glass.

The cake attack was said to be carried out by a 36-year old angry protester who disguised himself as an elderly woman in a wheelchair.

After he had gained entry into the spot reserved for the handicapped, he got up and smeared the cream cake over the glass case that covered the painting.

“Think about the Earth. There are people who are destroying the Earth. Think about it … all artists, think about the Earth — this is why I did this. Think about the planet”, the man said loudly.

The police swiftly took control of the situation and arrested him right away. Authorities say that the man has been detained in the psychiatric unit for evaluation.

He is being charged for damage of cultural artifacts.

The painting which is protected by a bullet proof glass, is said to still be in good shape and without any damage.
