Mohammad Nabi is a former captain of the Afghanistan national cricket team known for his dynamic all-round abilities.
Born on January 1, 1985, Nabi embarked on his cricketing journey, representing various domestic teams from 2007 to 2022.
Nabi participated in Afghanistan’s first-ever One Day International (ODI) in April 2009. Just over a decade later, in June 2018, he was part of the team that achieved another milestone – Afghanistan’s first Test match.

Nabi was an integral part of Afghanistan’s inaugural T20 International (T20I) team. On February 1, 2010, when Afghanistan faced Ireland, Nabi earned the distinction of becoming the fifth cap of the Afghanistan national team in T20 Internationals.
Nabi led Afghanistan during their first appearances in prestigious tournaments like the 2014 Asia Cup and the 2015 Cricket World Cup.
Beyond the international stage, he showcased his skills in various Twenty20 franchise tournaments, earning the honor of becoming the first player from Afghanistan to be selected in the Indian Premier League (IPL) player auction, where he donned the colors of Sunrisers Hyderabad.
In September 2019, Nabi retired from Test cricket, choosing to prolong his limited-overs career.
In 2020, he was inducted as a member of the Afghanistan Cricket Board.
