Hadiza is an advocate for women’s rights and is passionate about issues related to health and education for women.
Hadiza and Bazoum together have four children including Salem Bazoum, Zazia Bazoum and Khadija Bazoum.
Mohamed Bazoum Political Career
Mohamed Bazoum has had a long political career in Niger, holding various positions in the government, including Minister of State for the Interior and Public Security.
Bazoum started out as a member of the National Assembly of Niger, representing various constituencies.

He has been associated with the ruling Nigerien Party for Democracy and Socialism (PNDS-Tarayya) and has held leadership positions within the party.
Bazoum formerly served as Niger’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, overseeing the country’s diplomatic relations with other nations.
He also held the position of Minister of State for the Interior and Public Security, where he was responsible for matters related to internal security, law enforcement, and public safety.
During his time as Minister of State for the Interior, Public Safety, Decentralization, and Customary and Religious Affairs, Bazoum handled a broad range of domestic affairs and governance issues.
Bazoum had emerged president of Niger in 2021, after a failed coup d’état attempt. In 2023, he was ousted by a military coup led by Abdourahamane Tchiani.
