He has been in the news recently for his reluctance to publicly declare his position on the Anti-LGBTQI bill, which is currently awaiting President Akufo-Addo’s assent to become law.
In an interview on TV3’s New Day, MOG clarified that his initial refusal to comment was not about the activities themselves but rather about the assenting and passing of the bill.
He emphasized on his Christian beliefs and stated that he would not go against his faith by supporting something he believes to be wrong.

However, MOG also emphasized that he would not engage in discussions or pass comments on the assenting of the bill, as he believes it has no relation to his Christian faith.
He urged his fellow Christians not to be disturbed by his decision, emphasizing that they should focus on their assigned tasks.
The Anti-LGBTQI bill, which aims to severely restrict LGBTQI rights in Ghana, has been met with criticism from human rights activists.
If passed into law, it would punish those who engage in LGBTQI sexual acts and those who promote LGBTQI rights with imprisonment. The bill is currently awaiting President Akufo-Addo’s assent before it can be implemented.
