Moana: What did The Rock about about Moana Live Action?

Popular actor, Dwayne Johnson, who voiced Maui in the Disney animation film, Moana, has shared, there will be a live-action adaption of the popular 2016 animation.

“We are so excited and happy to announce that a live-action reimagining of Moana is in the works. Moana, Grandma Tala, the music, the dance, the village, the beautiful powerful ocean, and one more… oh! yours truly, Hei Hei the chicken. But of course, Maui will be in it too,” he said.

“As many of you may not know, the brilliant team at Disney Animation, my partners, we found so much inspiration from Maui in the manner and the presence of my late grandfather, the legendary Hachi Peter Maivia. He would walk up the room and the energy, the tattoos, the hair, the barn. So just as deep as you guys can see, this story means a lot to me. Because in a way, when I bring it to life, I’m doing it in the spirit of my grandfather. It’s still very early in the process, there’s so much more work to be done,” he shared.
