Mischa Zverev stands tall at a height of 1.91 m (6 feet 3 inches). He is the son of former Russian tennis player Alexander Zverev Sr., who is also his coach.

Mischa Zverev started playing tennis at the age of two and moved to Hamburg, Germany with his family in 1990. Zverev had a very successful junior career, reaching the semifinals of the US Open and the quarterfinals of Roland Garros and the Australian Open in 2004.
