Miro Heiskanen is the son of Jukka Heiskanen and Mia Mattinen. He has an older sister Miira who is studying social work in Finland.
Miro Heiskanen has a great relationship with his family. Sometimes the family would tease Heiskanen that he was the star but that was largely because he acted like anything but a star.
His father, Jukka, was his first coach and teacher on the ice. Heiskanen wanted to be on the ice since he was a toddler.
His father Jukka would often come home from work to find Miro standing by the door, holding a stick and skates and asking to go to the rink.
