Julia Taka-aho is the girlfriend of Miro Heiskanen a Finnish professional ice hockey defenseman and alternate captain for the National Hockey League (NHL) Dallas Stars.

Heiskanen and his girlfriend, Julia Taka-Aho, live in Dallas with two Pomeranians named Leo and Max.
Heiskanen stated that he has always enjoyed small dogs and that transporting Pomeranians from Finland is much easier than bringing over a larger dog.
Heiskanen feels more at ease in Dallas thanks to the dogs. “Dallas isn’t all that different from Finland,” Heiskanen said.
“There isn’t much of a difference; it’s pretty similar.” Just a lot of hockey and spend time with my girlfriend and dogs. For me, the difference isn’t that significant.”

Miro Heiskanen also stated that his girlfriend enjoys living in Dallas and appreciates the small Finnish community that has developed as a result of having four Finns on the same team.
The NHL Central Scouting Bureau ranked Heiskanen as one of the top ten eligible European skaters, and the Stars selected him third overall in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.
Heiskanen was named to the Stars’ roster to begin the 2018-19 NHL season and made his debut on October 4 against the Arizona Coyotes in a 3-0 win.
