Tyson encountered a health issue during a flight from Los Angeles to Miami, which necessitated medical attention. While initially, it seemed like the match would proceed as planned, Tyson’s recent health checkup indicated otherwise.
Following a consultation on Thursday, May 29, 2024, regarding his ulcer flare-up, medical professionals advised Tyson to engage in minimal to light training over the next few weeks, with a return to full training expected afterward.
An official statement revealed that a new fight date would be announced on June 7, with AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, remaining the desired venue.

Despite the setback, Tyson remains confident in his readiness to deliver an unforgettable performance later this year.
The bout between Tyson and Paul was sanctioned as a professional eight-round fight, contested at heavyweight with 14-ounce gloves.
While Tyson, 57, hasn’t secured a professional boxing victory since 2003, defeating Paul presents an opportunity for redemption. The fight would also mark a historic age gap, with Tyson turning 58 on June 30 and Paul being 27.
Originally planned for livestreaming on Netflix, the match holds significant anticipation among boxing enthusiasts.
Jake Paul, expressing his support for the postponement, emphasized his readiness to face Tyson at his best. “When he steps into the ring with me, I will be ready to claim my W with a sensational finish,” Paul asserted, promising a memorable showdown for fans.
