Football star Mike McGlinchey grew up amongst his five siblings.

One of them, Matt McGlinchey,  plays football for Ursinus College. Another brother of his, Jimmy is the most popular of all because he is autistic.

Jimmy is Mike’s younger brother who was diagnosed with autism when he barely two years old.

“… when Jim was born he wasn’t doing things my mom had already seen in her other four kids. She kind of knew something was off and that enabled her to get him into early intervention that has really helped out along the way”, Mike once explained.

Who Is Mike McGlinchey?

Mike McGlinchey is a football player who plays as an offensive tackle for the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League (NFL).

Born on January 12, 1995, in Pennsylvania, Mike played high school football at William Penn Charter School, and college football at Notre Dame.

In his freshman year at Notre Dame, Mike appeared in 13 games, and became the teams starter.

He played both the right tackle and left tackle position and later became the team’s captain. He completed college after appearing in a total of 51 games, out of which he started 39.

In 2018, Mike was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers as ninth overall pick, in the first round of the NFL draft. He was the second offensive lineman to be drafted.

Mike signed a four-year deal worth $18.34 million with the team, including a signing bonus of $11.41 million.

So far, he has helped the 49ers record a victory over the Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers to reach Super Bowl LIV.

In 2021, Mike was granted a fifth year option by the 49ers, with a salary option of $10.9 million.
