Nicole Hazen was a middle school teacher who was best known as the wife of Arizona Diamondbacks General Manager Mike Hazen.

Nicole Hazen was born and raised in Cleveland. Nicole Marie Ferrara met Mike Hazen while he was working for the Indians as an assistant farm director.
After they married, she quit teaching when they had their first child, and the family relocated to Boston when Mike was hired by the Red Sox.
They had three more children in Boston, and after the family relocated to Arizona in the fall of 2016, she returned to teaching, taking a position at St. Francis Xavier, where the Hazen boys attended school.

Nicole Hazen was diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer, in 2020, according to her husband.

Doctors performed surgery to remove as much of the brain tumour as possible. She was then subjected to a six-week cycle of chemotherapy and radiation.
Even after beginning to undergo surgeries and various treatments, she remained on as an English teacher at St. Francis Xavier in Phoenix through the end of 2021.
Nicole Hazen died as a result of complications from glioblastoma on Thursday, August 4 2022.
