Michael Brown was born on August 10, 1935, in Massillon, Ohio, the United States as the son of Bengals co-founder and original coach of the Cleveland Browns, Paul Brown.
Mike Brown is the only living son of Paul Brown. He lost two brothers; his brother, Pete, was the Senior Vice-President of Bengals’ player personnel until his death in 2017 while his older brother, Robin, died of cancer in 1978.

Regarding his education, Mike Brown graduated from Dartmouth College in 1957, where he played quarterback for their football team. He later graduated from Harvard Law School in 1959. Brown is currently the 2nd longest-tenured active general manager in the NFL and had assumed ownership of the Bengals team following his father’s death.
Mike Brown has been the owner of the Cincinnati Bengals of the National Football League (NFL) since 1991. He is the father of Bengals’ executive vice president, Katie Blackburn, who is also the first woman to be a chief contract negotiator in the NFL.
