Mikala Jones Cause of Death

Hawaiian surfer, Mikala Jones has died. He died on Sunday after suffering a fatal accident while surfing off the coast of Indonesia’s Mentawai Islands.

While trying to ride a wave, he suffered a severe cut to his groin. The deep cut, probably caused by the fin of the board, severed his femoral artery and he bled to death.

An Uruguayan surfer, Santiago Pereira, who was present in the area, recounted what happened and said, “Jones put his GoPro in his mouth and started paddling with a lot of energy to surf the second wave of a giant set. It was very big, three times his size…”.

Jones was born in Hawaii’s Rocky Point. His siblings, Malia, Keoni and Daniel Jones, also excelled in surfing. Jones captured the hearts of countless surfing aficionados in Hawaii and elsewhere during the course of his career that lasted more than 25 years.
