Michal Fico: Who Is Robert Fico’s Son?

Political figure Robert Fico, who was born on September 15, 1964, was Slovakia’s prime minister from 2006 to 2010 and again from 2012 to 2018 (when he resigned). Since 1999, he has served as the Direction – Social Democracy (Smer) party’s first leader.

While still residing in Czechoslovakia, he was first elected to Parliament in 1992, and he was subsequently assigned to the Council of Europe. He established the first Fico Cabinet following the success of his party in the 2006 parliamentary elections.

In the wake of the Ján Kuciak murder-related political crisis, Fico officially submitted his resignation to President Andrej Kiska on March 15, 2018. Kiska subsequently gave Deputy Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini the go-ahead to form a new government.

Svetlana Ficová, an attorney and assistant professor from Žilina, is the spouse of Fico. They married in 1988 while both were law students at Bratislava’s Comenius University, where they were classmates. Michal, their only child, attended the University of Economics in Bratislava.
