When he married Liz Symon in 1998, he welcomed a ready-made family as well as a marriage. As Liz’s son Kyle’s stepfather, their relationship grew stronger over time, and they went on to co-found the entertaining “Knife & Cork” podcast.
The chef’s ascent to fame is a reflection of the passion with which he prepares his food. Michael was up in Cleveland and was surrounded by his Greek-Macedonian family, who introduced him to a wide variety of flavours.
In 1997, his personality and cooking skills propelled him onto the national scene on Food Network’s “Iron Chef America,” where he quickly won over fans.
