Award-winning actor Michael McGrath passed away on September 14, 2023, at age 65.

McGrath is survived by his wife, Toni DiBuono, his daughter Katie Claire McGrath, his sister, Joan, and his brother, Jay.

Tributes have poured in from around the world since the news of his death was announced.

“Very saddened to hear that Michael McGrath our first and most beloved Patsy in Spamalot, has passed away. Warm hugs to all the Spamalot family and very happy memories of a lovely man”, Eric Idle wrote on social media.

About Michael McGrath

Michael McGrath had a successful acting career that revolved mainly around Broadway stage plays and TV productions like My Favorite Year, Swinging on a Star, Changing Lanes, The Interpreter and Little Me.

McGrath is most famous for playing Patsy in the Broadway Musical “Spamalot”.

For playing the character of Patsy in Spamalot, McGrath received a Tony Award.

Other Broadway plays he appeared include “Is He Dead?, Memphis, The Honeymooners, Finding Neverland, and Nice Work If You Can Get It “, which also won him a Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical.

McGrath additionally served as announcer on The Martin Short Talk Show between 1999 and 2000.

He subsequently played voice roles in a few animations like including The Secret of Kells and Wolfwalkers.
