Michael Lorenzen is a professional baseball player for the Philadelphia Phillies of Major League Baseball (MLB). He is the son of Clif Lorenzen and Cheryl Lorenzen.

He is the youngest of three brothers: Jonathan, Matthew, and Anthony. Jonathan played professionally, while Matthew attended Cypress and Fullerton Colleges.
Michael Lorenzen’s parents both suffered with drugs and alcohol and argued constantly, with Lorenzen claiming the police would turn up at his house “almost every single weekend.”

He began experimenting with drugs and alcohol in eighth grade, but quit when he was 17 after hearing the Gospel read to him. He is now a devout Christian.
Lorenzen’s father died in August of 2016. On August 19, 2016, he hit his first career home run and dedicated it to his father in his first game back off the bereavement list.
