Michael Gerson was an American journalist and speechwriter, who worked as a columnist for The Washington Post.

Born on May 15, 1964, in Belmar, New Jersey, United States, Gerson graduated from Georgetown University and Wheaton College, Illinois.

He had been a speechwriter for the Bush campaign and served as head of the White House speechwriting team for five years.

Gerson wrote the inaugural address, where George Bush, called for nation-building around the world.

Gerson was known to be very exceptional and successful at his job. He was a fellow of the One Campaign, the Center for Public Justice, and the Council on Foreign Relations.

In 2018, Gerson began co-hosting political talk shows on PBS.
