Shakira Caine has been married to English actor Michael Caine. since 8 January 1973. The couple met after Caine saw her in a Maxwell House coffee commercial and a friend gave him her telephone number.
He phoned her every day for ten days until she agreed to meet with him. They have a daughter, Natasha Haleema.
Shakira Caine is Muslim, and her husband is Christian. In 2009, he told The Guardian: “My wife is a Muslim, and she does Muslim things; I am a Christian, and I do Christian things, and no questions are ever raised. The media’s perception of Muslims differs from mine, which is very positive and peaceful.”

Shakira Caine appeared in several films, including Some Girls Do (1969), Carry On Again Doctor (1969), Tomorrow (1970), Son of Dracula (1974), and The Man Who Would Be King (1974), which she co-wrote with her husband (1975).
She was also in two episodes of the science fiction TV show UFO. In June 1970, she auditioned for the role of Doctor Who companions Jo Grant, alongside third Doctor Jon Pertwee.
